Meet the Team
Our representative in Latin America, Vanessa Hooper, has lived, worked, and studied in three different countries: Mexico, Canada and the USA. Born and raised in Mexico, she completed her first post-secondary degree at a highly respected public institution in Mexico City, the IPN. As an engineering graduate, she worked developing business for an international technology firm. Given the opportunity, she migrated to Canada and continued to add to her resume with a business degree at Royal Roads University. As an immigrant, she was strongly motivated to gather insight into the newcomers education needs and their fit into the job market, hence she completed a Certificate in Career and Academic Advising at the University of Calgary. In 2018, she was honored to become a Canadian citizen. Furthering her insight into the North American labor market, she took a position in talent acquisition for a corporate firm in the USA. Her unique background -a journey!- as immigrant then citizen, international student then graduate, professional then headhunter; have deepened her understanding of the do’s and don’ts of country re-settlement, international education, career development, and the multiple challenges that newcomers overcome when living abroad.
